Cherish Earth

In the spring of 2008, Cherry Republic began an initiative.  This initiative combined the company’s existing principles and beliefs with new efforts, ideas, and technology.  It involved employees, their families, local businesses, and attentive citizens.  It was the company’s commitment to become Green.

The terms “green” and “eco-friendly” are heard and seen everywhere – on product labels, on the news, in advertisements.  They can describe anything from soap to building supplies; from the fabric that made the shirt you’re wearing to the ink in the pen you’re holding.  But what do these words mean at Cherry Republic?  They, among others, describe an ongoing effort to vastly reduce our non-renewable energy usage and waste, reuse as much as we can, and recycle what we can’t reuse.

After this effort was underway within our company, we sat back for a moment and reviewed our progress.  The impact of our water saving appliances, solar energy, wind energy, and waste reduction wasn’t the only thing that surprised us – but also the great amount of time, efforts, and sincerity of the employees that helped accomplish them.  It started us thinking – what would happen if other community members and businesses started the same initiative?  The energy savings would be much larger – and awareness of the significance of these efforts would continue to grow.  This is how we came up with Cherish Earth.  Cherish Earth is a line of products that will be sold at Cherry Republic stores, and all profits will go directly into a fund to help foster renewable energy practices within our community.  This website is your source for information on how you can be involved.
